Zoning Board approves five area variance applications

NY SULLIVAN — Sullivan Zoning Board grants approval to five area variance applications in July meeting. Applicants John Giacona and Derrick Maimone both received unanimous approval for deck additions at 117 Cayuga Avenue and 122 Seneca Avenue respectively; Giacona's 4.4-foot variance allowed a 12-by-8-foot front deck and Maimone's 16-foot variance permitted a 20-by-20-foot rear deck with roof. Amber Canorro and Larry Garvey won unanimous approval for fence height and style variances at 990 Chestnut Ridge Road and 8712 Bridgeport Kirkville Road.

Doug Varnum's request for a residential shed with 9.5-foot side and 25-foot rear variances passed 4-1, with Chairman Steve Durfee casting the sole opposing vote.
